About this audiobook
She’s a teacher. She knows the rules.
When recent college graduate Imogene Abney takes a job as a teacher at pricey and exclusive The Vandenberg School, an institution populated by the most privileged boys in America, she is plunged into an unfamiliar world.
Struggling to adjust, Imogene welcomes the friendship of student Adam Kipling. But when Adam starts taking things too far, she crosses a line that could result in disaster —losing her job, jail, and the total ruin of her reputation.
Suddenly Imogene is facing her worst nightmare, even though Adam began their affair, which hardly seems fair to Imogene. Especially when Adam is telling a very different story and the authorities seem to be on his side.
She’s the innocent one…Isn’t she?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not a single character in this book is likeable, most especially Imogene. The 4 stars should tell you how well Sullivan writes.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a tale of a young teacher-in-training at a boarding school who has an affair with a student. If you're thinking this isn't going to end well, you're right. As I read this novel, I felt a lot of empathy for the main character but I also want to tell her (as one friend did) that only heartbreak and unhappiness lie on the path she was taking. Well, sigh, at least someone tried. If you're looking for something to help recall youthful relationships and the bad decisions that can result, this book offers a thorough exploration.
