About this audiobook

A hilarious memoir of home truths and whatever the opposite of 'that girl energy' is, from one half of the hit podcast Toni amp; Ryan.

Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's 'I'm five minutes away' or 'It must have gone to my spam folder', most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big 'life' stuff too?
When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realised that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything from gastro, fame and Twilight to funerals, the Dalai Lama and Brazilian waxes.
In this hilarious warm hug of a book, Toni exposes the lies she has told herself about who she is and what she is capable of, inviting us on a riotous romp that will make you laugh, cringe, cry and utterly rethink the truth behind the stories we tell ourselves.

I loved this. I listened to the audiobook and it's amazing to hear Toni telling it herself. The moments about her mom hit hard because I went through the same thing almost two years ago.

Toni narrating the book herself made it all the more special. I laughed when she laughed, cried when she cried. It really felt like listening to a friend on a long call and in the end gave some great insights into my own life. Can highly recommend.

I laughed (out loud a lot), I cried (hopefully not in front of too many people) and I related so darn hard to this book. If you listen to the Toni and Ryan podcast, then you're going to love hearing the details to how Toni became an Author, Doctor and get to know her family. If you don't listen to Toni and Ryan, what are you doing with your life? But seriously, this book is like having a BFF in your pocket, telling you funny and emotional stories that mirror things you've probably talked to your BFF about. Loved it!

Honest and hilarious. I didn’t know Toni before reading this but will follow her now.
