- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What an interesting story! Lizzie is asked to be the companion of Lucy, a 17 yr. old girl, living with two older aunts in Devon after marrying an unsuitable young man who the family has sent away to India. She has received given birth to a baby girl and has been told the baby died. She doesn’t believe this and has told Lizzie that the dead baby wasn’t her baby. Plenty of suspicious people and goings on and then Lucy discovers the dead body of a gypsy. A family cover-up begins and Lizzie sends for her friend, Inspector Ross to investigate.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ein tolles Buch und eine sagenhafte Sprecherin. Die Figuren sind gnz entzückend und werden durch die grandiose Leistung der Vorleserin zu ganz eigenem Leben erweckt. Herrlich.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I am completely neutral about this book. I don't hate it, but I'm not absolutely sure that I like it, My problem is that I just couldn't care about the characters in the book, and as this is a murder mystery that is important. The setting did feel authentic though.
