About this audiobook

Genetically Engineered. Physically enhanced. Mentally conditioned. Master Chief Sergeant Major Max Rage was the top dog in an elite fighting force that no one in the galaxy could stop. Until, one day, someone did. The lone survivor, Rage was blamed for the mission failure and court-martialed. With a serious chip on his shoulder, Rage finds himself as a bouncer at the top dive bar in Greenville, South Carolina. And, man, is he bored with his job. At least until he gets a job offer he can't refuse. Now, Rage is headed halfway across the galaxy to the den of corruption known as Horloc Station. With this job, Max Rage may have a chance to get back to what he was: an unstoppable Intergalactic Badass!

The intro promise some military action. It turn into a thug fest real quick.

Not expecting a lot with the title, tagline and the first chapter, but after that I was hooked. The first chapter reads like a Duke Nukem cutscene, but soon a very capable character is placed in a rough situation. Then the situation gets worse, and the book gets great. A little crass at times and highly sexual, though nothing too explicit (definitely not erotica territory). Jake Bible never fails to twist the story in a way you don't expect, but definitely want. The narrator, Troy Duran, did all the voices perfectly, especially Max's. Looking forward to more from the author and narrator. 9/10
