      Lots of action in this character-driven adventure fantasy. Rory is a strong female character but still has a vulnerable side.

      The story flows well and keeps your attention. I think it gets a bit repetitious with some of the facts, but not enough to impact on my enjoyment of the story.

      I would definitely recommend this book to others.

      Spartan Promise by Jennifer Estep2nd book in the spin-off Mythos Academy series with Rory as lead. Best read as part of the series. YA urban fantasy. Rory and friends continue fighting Reapers and protecting the magical and powerful artifacts. I like Rory’s strength of character. She strong and will do whatever is needed to protect the artifacts and her friends. Love the gargoyles and other mythic beasts. Fast moving adventure of good over evil. Engrossing. Easter egg to a different series by the author.
