Shards of Murder by Cheryl Hollon is the second book in A Webb's Glass Shop Mystery. Savannah Webb has been to be a judge at the Spinnaker Art Festival (glass category, of course). It is an honor to picked. Savannah is a little nervous as this is her first time judging a competition. Her former mentor (and teacher), Keith Irving is in town. Keith has two students entered into the competition (Megan Loyola and Leon Price). When the winner does not arrive at the award ceremony the next day, Savannah goes looking for her. Savannah finds an empty booth. However, when Savannah is out walking Rooney (her Weimaraner puppy) she discovers a body in the water (in Tampa Bay) with a shard of glass in her head. Someone wanted this person dead. Savannah is the last person to see the victim alive (which means she is a suspect). Savannah and her posse gather together to find the killer (and the motive behind the killing). Will Savannah be able to find the killer before she ends up in the bay.Shards of Murder was a cute and fun story to read. I like the characters and the setting as well as the beautiful descriptions of glass as the festival. I especially like learning about different methods of working with glass (this time about fusing glass which I find fascinating). The mystery was extremely easy to solve (I guessed it immediately), but I liked the authors misdirection and clues. I give Shards of Murder 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). I found Shards of Murder just as good as the first book in A Webb’s Glass Shop Mystery, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.I received a complimentary copy of Shards of Murder from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Cheryl has once again spun a mystery that will grab you and hold you all the way to the end. Her characters are well rounded complete with flaws. The information the reader gleans from the story about stained glasswork makes this so much fun to read. Personally, I prefer books that not only have a mystery (my favorite genre), but has something I can learn. One thing I loved is that Savannah who made the decision as to who won the competition, becomes the prime suspect. Then she and her friends jump in to find the real killer. This book, like her first one will grab hold of you until you turn the last page. This book, if you haven’t read the first one would be a great stand- alone book. I highly recommend this book.

This book was bad. So, SO bad !! The writing was juvenile and sophomoric. But what really made it so excruciatingly bad, was the reader. She was one of the WORST audiobook readers I have ever listened to. I will not be continuing to read this series.

This is the second book in the Webb's Glass Shop Mysteries and after having read and loved the first one, I was looking forward to this one. It started out very promising but it did not grab me the way the first one did. I also figured out who the murderer was about 2/3 of the way into the book, which I seldom am able to do. I would actually give it 3.5 stars.

Savannah Webb is asked to be a judge at the Spinnaker Arts Festival Art Show. She meets two stained glass artisans and has to choose between the two of them. It is a difficult choice but she selected "fire" which was the female artist. While the awards are being presented, the winner does not show up. Her display is taken down and no one seems to know where she disappeared to. The next morning while walking her dog, Savannah finds her body in the Bay, dead. Of course, she is the prime suspect having not only found the body, but being one of the last people to see her alive. Savannah and her "posse" set forth on a mission to solve the murder and take Savannah out of the cross hairs of the police. With the help of Amanda, Edward, Jacob and her previous teacher Keith, they follow the clues and ask a lot of questions. I will say that the characters were further developed in this book and both Savannah and Amanda teach their glass classes which is part of the business, but there just seemed to be something missing in this one for me.

Cheryl Hollon really knows the stained glass business. It is interesting to read about all the complexities that go on in a glass shop as well as the glass museum and the classes and festivals. There was a new glass technique taught in this book. People who enjoy cozy mysteries with arts and craft themes will probably enjoy this book.

In this second installment of the Webb's Glass Shop Mysteries, Savannah has been selected to judge the Glass Category of the Spinnaker Art Festival. Her former teacher is in town and has two students entered in the competition which makes her a bit nervous. However, when the winner is announced and doesn't appear to claim their prize, things start to get a bit scary. Savannah finds the winner but there's no celebration - she's been killed with her own creation.The mystery is fun and the information about the art of glass fusing is interesting and easily woven through the story.

I had trouble putting down this informative and well written mystery. Book two finds Savannah Webb making the vibrant St. Petersburg arts community her home by following in her father’s footsteps and becoming a judge at the Spinnaker Art Festival. Artists from her former Seattle glass days are entered, and one in particular, Megan Loyola, seems to be showing some uniquely gifted pieces. While Savannah has a lot of latitude from the police in ‘helping’ investigate with her friends, the solid storytelling and clues had me guessing until almost the end about the identity of the murderer. The sub-plots, with her 'posse' of friends and the agility training of her dog Rooney, round out an already fantastic book.
