The suspense was great. The romance was not. This would have been a much better book if the author had cut out the romance completely. But it was still worth the listen.

Rachel Dylan has done it again. She’s started another great, exciting series with a bang. End Game was full of intrigue, for sure! The characters were strong and the storyline kept me turning the pages. There were plenty of twists and turns and trying to figure out who was behind it all. Great read! I can’t wait to read book 2!

Bailey Ryan, an FBI agent, is on loan for the duration of this investigation. Marco Agostini is the head NCIS Special Agent and her partner in the quest to solve this multiple murder. Add another NCIS agent, an Army Ranger and a JAG lawyer to the team and the possibility of solving the case gets better...or does it??With multiple murders, possible suicides and targeted attacks this suspense thriller will keep you guessing the whole time. Follow the team as they forage through the evidence until they can bait the trap to catch those who are guilty. This fabulous book, which you don’t want to miss, is just the beginning in the Capital Intrigue series and one I look forward to thoroughly enjoying!

Who can you trust? Who should you believe? Rachel Dylan will leave you wondering just that in her new inter-agency book, End Game. When elite members of the military are murdered stateside within a short timeframe, it can't be a coincidence. FBI Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Agent Marco Agostini are joining forces to connect the dots and bring the killer to justice. All leads point to a Navy Seal sniper but not everyone agrees on his guilt. While searching for answers, more crimes are committed and the stakes are getting higher. Someone is targeting those that get close to the situation but who is behind it. Suspense at it's finest! This one knocked it out of the park with plot twists and high energy scenes. It will have you trying to put the pieces together only to flip to the next page and have a new twist that throws you back to square one. The relationships (not just romance) between the characters is an added bonus. You will get to know every character from the main two down to the sidekicks. The Capital Intrigue series starts with End Game and focuses on FBI Agent Bailey Ryan. It all begins with three women who found friendship during their classes at Georgetown Law. Now each have careers in difference government agencies. As their stories unfold, you will discover female leading characters with depth, integrity, charm and leadership. If you enjoy NCIS, Criminal Minds and the likes, you will enjoy reading Rachel Dylan's new series.

End Game is a very intriguing book. It has suspense/mystery/romance. There are so many layers to this story that it is fascinating to read.I love a good suspense book. The characters are interesting and the plot while intricate, flows really well. This is the first book that I have read of Rachel Dylan and I don't plan on it being the last. She really has a way with words and knows how to pull her reader in.The characters in this book come from different departments of law-enforcement. It was interesting to see how they all operate separately, but when trying to solve a case, they will cooperate and share information. Each of the characters comes to the book with their own perspective and experience. I enjoyed how it takes a team to make a difference. In this story, they are making a difference for the families who have lost loved ones and to stop killing that may happen. As I stated above, the story is complex and good. The book contains romance, but it is not the focus. The focus is on the investigation and bringing the bad guys to justice. I am excited that this is the first book in a series. I look forward to the next installment. This book contains non-graphic violence and kissing.Source: I received a complimentary copy. I loved the books in Rachel Dylan's Atlanta Justice series because they revealed her knowledge of the law and they also had a core group of characters that were featured in the three books of the series. Dylan now has a new series and this first book is a doozy! End Game is set in Washington, DC and it is filled with intrigue and an inside look at our US government. There are agents from the FBI, NCIS, and several other government agencies who become involved in the murders of several members of the military and the race begins to stop the deadly agenda of the killer (or killers)! Who is behind these murders and is government corruption involved? FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini are the main focus in End Game but they are supported by several friends and it's obvious that future stories in the Capital Intrigue series will focus on some of these friends. This is one reason that I love Dylan's books....they allow us to build relationships with the characters as we continue to read the series. Second reason: Intrigue, action, and suspense. Just when I thought I knew who was behind these deadly acts, another clue would surface. Third reason: Dylan's books are always rich in faith and the act of prayer is always incorporated into the plot. Bailey has a deep faith in God and she talks to Him constantly and it is the Christian witness that she shares that helps to bolster Marco's own belief. And did I mention romance? Bailey and Marco's working relationship deepens into attraction and then into something more; their chemistry is intense but I can always count on Dylan to keep the romance exciting but unobjectionable. I thoroughly enjoyed End Game and I am eager for the next book in the series. If you enjoy romantic suspense and Christian fiction, you definitely want to read this book. It's a keeper!I received a complimentary copy from the author and publisher but there was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts and opinion.

Rachel Dylan’s newest book is the first in her Capital Intrigue series. And intrigue is what you get in End Game. This book was a puzzler from the start and had everything a fan of romantic suspense could want. It is definitely a recommended read!Main characters Bailey Ryan and Marco Angostini become the lead investigators when a civilian and a Navy SEAL are murdered within days of each other. The striking similarities in their deaths bring together the FBI and NCIS agents to use all of their deductive skills and the assets of their respective agencies. I loved the collaborative nature of the case — many people, including those from JAG, the army, and even the local DA office, participate. End Game was a glimpse into how law enforcement personnel cooperate. The case involves three separate murders, and the team must pursue all leads. There’s danger around every corner! The novel’s Washington, D. C. setting adds an extra layer as contractors, foreign agents, and government officials are all under the microscope. End Game has great romance — there are definite sparks between Bailey and Marco — and it develops in a satisfying, yet natural manner. Dylan also interjects an inspirational message, and I loved how she had characters at all stages in their faith journey. While the investigators closed the twisting case in End Game, I can see some more great reading ahead. I can’t wait to see what Dylan has in store in the next books.Recommended.Audience: adults.(Thanks to NetGalley and Bethany House for a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are mine alone.)

This book was the perfect way to start a new series. The name of the series,Capital Intrigue, is perfect. This had so many twists and turns. I was left guessing until near the end of the book as to who was the bad guy in the story. All of the characters are wonderful. It will be so much fun to see how each character comes to life during the next books in the series. I did not want to stop reading this story. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

The author begins this book with us wondering what is going on, and when independent government agencies come together, you know this is something big happening here. When more tragic victims are put down, the team is attacking all different leads to bring down the culprits. When facts start to be revealed, I wondered if this isn’t a true story, but I sure hope not.Evil perpetrates more evil here, but we hope justice will prevail, and with the hit squad trying to take out our agents, well, we hope all will survive. We are offered non-stop action, and a real page turner for answers, and maybe throw in a little romance, but this one is a winner!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House and was not required to give a positive review.

What a fantastic start to a new series! Rachel Dylan kicks it up another notch with End Game, where action and adrenaline flow rapidly as an FBI agent and a NCIS specialist unravel a tightly woven conspiracy that becomes murderous. The plot is detailed and well-constructed with interesting twists and turns and how it all came together at the end was really fascinating. The storyline is easy to follow and each event had me turning the pages a little faster to try to figure out what really happened.Bailey and Marco are both easy to like and cheer for. Bailey, in her structured, regimented way, is relatable and understandable. Marco, in his easy-going, spontaneous way, is quite lovable. The romance did not overshadow the suspense component of the story and balanced out the multiple near-death escapes. If you enjoy romantic suspense, this book is a must-read. I'm anxiously waiting for the next installment!I received a copy of the book from Bethany House and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Title: End Game (Capital Intrigue #1)Author: Rachel DylanPages: 320Year: 2020Publisher: Bethany HouseMy rating: 5 out of 5 starsRachel Dylan has once again written an engaging, suspense-filled tale that will keep readers enjoying the book until the conclusion. In her newest series, Rachel introduces us to three friends Baily, Layla and Vivian who bonded while attending law school. Each woman has a career that causes her to have secrets from each other, but it doesn’t inhibit their friendship. Then readers are introduced to NCIS Marco Agostini who admittedly wears his heart on his sleeve so to speak. He is upfront and direct, but he also knows how to bring justice. What starts out as just a simple mystery involving a contractor’s death turns into a vast web of murderous and possible treasonous activities. Soon other agencies and agents are involved in attempting to find out why particular deaths have occurred, seem random and not related, but where will the facts lead the investigators?I found the suspense-filled story very engaging and exciting from start to finish. The author does a masterful job of painting her characters so real it was amazing. The story kept going deeper into the world of military, legal, and other law enforcement personnel that I often wondered how it was all going to come together. Rachel Dylan really takes her audience on a rollercoaster ride with the FBI agent, NCIS, Army Rangers and a host of others. I kept turning pages to see where the action was leading. In the novel, there are romance and relationships building between other characters that make me wonder if the author will bring some of them back in future books. I have read other stories by this author and here I can see how much the author has grown in her skills of telling a tale that entertains and keeps readers up until they finish the book. I personally cannot wait to read the next installment in the series to see what new mystery, suspense and possible romances are going to bloom! Don’t miss the start of Rachel Dylan’s new and exciting series!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
