About this audiobook

Police Chief Jane Hardy’s teenage son has been accused of a horrific crime—and three days of Jane’s memories have been stolen from her. In the gripping third installment of the Pelican Harbor series, the truth is finally coming out.

Chief of Police Jane Hardy plunges into the investigation of a house fire that claimed the life of a local woman as well as one of the firefighters. It’s clear the woman was murdered. But why? The unraveling of Jane’s personal life makes answers for the case even more difficult to find.

Then Jane’s fifteen-year-old son is accused of a terrible crime, and she has to decide if she can trust her ex, Reid, to help her prove Will’s innocence—and if she can trust Reid with her heart.

Three days of Jane’s past are missing from her memory, and that’s not all that’s been stolen from her. As she struggles to find the murderer and clear her son’s name, finding out what happened in those three days could change everything.

It all started with one little lie . . . but the truth is finally coming out.

In the 3rd and last book of the Pelican Harbor trilogy, the Jane Hardy, the sheriff, her 15 year old son was arrested for killing his stepmom who had abandoned him. Someone is setting him up Jane and Reed are sure of it. Will they find who did it before he is convicted?

Plus Jane has to reunite with her mother due to the demands of an individual stating Janes mom has his “stuff”.

That stuff happens to be an explosive. How does this connect with the setup to Janes son?

Will Jane and Reed get their happy ending?

This is a good crime fiction clean mystery series. Having survived being in a cult during her childhood, Jane became the local sheriff of Pelican Harbor, a tiny community that had a New Orleans flare.

There was a lot of filler and I thought the story could have wrapped up in 2 books.

    Overall, I would recommend

This is where our fear meets the bedrock of our faith….I pray you’re right. I vacillate between total trust and total doubt.Wow! Expect to sit on the edge of your seat for however many hours it takes you to read this book! Just imagine your child being charged with murder, your world falling apart around you and you have no idea who to trust. All you know is that your child is innocent. The author has done a fabulous job of taking the reader in circles, with so many subplots you start to wonder if it could be the same group behind the fires, murders, etc. Chief Jane Hardy and her deputies are at their finest, working to solve these convoluted mysteries. This book was borrowed from the church library. These thoughts and impressions are my own.

Three Missing Days is the third book in the Pelican Harbor Series. Jane Hardy, police chief of Pelican Harbor, is investigating the mysterious death of a local woman when members of the cult she was raised in show up on an island nearby. She learns that their presence may be linked to Jane’s mother whom Jane has neither seen nor heard from in all the years since escaping the cult with her father. Jane and her ex, Reid, go in search of Jane’s mother and learn secrets that begin to unravel the memories of Jane’s past. But as Jane and Reid arrive back in town, they learn that Will, their son, has been framed for murder and could face life in prison or even the death penalty. Can the mysteries of Jane’s past help to solve the murders of the present? And will they be able to piece together all the clues in time to save their son?I found Three Missing Days to be a book that caught my attention at the start and held it until the end. The story keeps a steady pace, never stalling out or dragging. The characters of Jane and Reid are likable and relatable. I appreciate the element of faith that Colleen Coble always works into her stories, and I appreciate that she writes clean romance. Overall, Three Missing Days was a good read — exciting, full of action, romance, and faith.*I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Title: Three Missing DaysAuthor: Colleen CoblePages: 352Year: 2021Publisher: Thomas NelsonMy rating is 5 out of 5 stars.Police Chief Jane Hardy is back in this third and final installment in the Pelican Harbor Series. She is called to the scene of a house fire in which a woman and a fireman lose their lives. It is quickly discovered the fire was set intentionally. As she investigates, she begins is wonder who the intended victim of the fire is. Was it the woman, who owned a laboratory service, or the fireman?Soon another murder is committed with the accused someone close to Jane. Jane assigns this case to her lead detective while Jane continues to investigate the arson murders. Jane also gets word that there are people illegally camping on a small island near the harbor. She and Reid arrive on the island to find that there are indeed people living there, and they are members of the cult she and Reid grew up in. Their leader is not a nice man and has committed several crimes, including the murder of Reid’s mother many years ago while they were all living in the cult. No proof was ever discovered of this murder, but Reid knows the truth. Jane confronts her father, with whom she has a difficult relationship with to say the least, about this old murder but he isn’t forthcoming with information. Jane decides to ask her estranged mother about this and that opens up a can of worms. Whew! Jane is under a lot of pressure, both personally and professionally. How will she deal with this? Are any of these murders related? This was one of the best series by this author in my opinion. I enjoyed reading about Jane’s fledgling faith grow and be lived out in her life. She really had to cling to the Lord in this third novel as murder hit close to home and heart. Her romantic relationship with Reid was a joy to read. Reid’s patience and faith were on full display as well. I recommend reading the three novels in the series in order as Chief Hardy’s personal story line runs from one book to the next. I’m looking forward to this author’s next suspense-filled novel!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.

Three Missing Days, by Colleen Coble, is book three in The Pelican Harbor series. This series is a continuing story so it is best to read them in order. The author does a good job of giving some background information, but I did feel something was missing from the story since I hadn’t read the first two book.Fifteen years earlier Jane’s and Reid’s families were part of a cult compound when she had their son. Now the past is coming back and she is forced to remember three days from that time. This is a great story, one that makes me want to go back and read the series in order. It is full of action and suspense yet focuses on family and faith. One of the points in the story that stands out to me is when Jane is feeling down, Reid tells her that everything in life fails, but God doesn’t fail us. He tells her that we will see God’s work in time. I especially enjoyed the family interactions, specifically when Jane’s father talks with Reid about his feeling. This was so good.I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The conclusion of this series is amazing, actually the whole series has been, there is non-stop action, most you won't see coming! How does this all tie together? Well, keep reading, as you turn the pages, the story gets better and better. We learn a lot here, and I love how the author's mind works, wow!Family is a center point here, and it keeps coming back in different ways, and some are big surprises, and others you will feel sorry for what they willingly give up.Make sure you read the epilogue, makes me want to keep going on with the lives of these characters!I received this book through Edelweiss and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
