About this audiobook
An overworked attorney’s grandmother will stop at nothing to find her a date for Christmas in this heartwarming holiday love story about finding what really matters in life.
As a first-year law associate, Sydney Batson knows she will be updating her resume by New Year’s if she loses her current case. So when her grandmother gets inexplicably ill while Sydney is in court, she arranges for a cab to take her grandmother to the clinic.
The last thing cab driver Finn Parrish wants is to be saddled with a wheelchair-bound old lady with dementia. But because Miss Callie reminds him of his own mother, whom he failed miserably in her last days, he can’t say no when she keeps calling him for rides. Once a successful gourmet chef, Finn’s biggest concern now is paying his rent, but half the time Callie doesn’t remember to pay him. And as she starts to feel better, she leads him on wild-goose chases to find a Christmas date for her granddaughter.
When Finn meets Sydney, he’s quite certain she’s never needed help finding a date. Does Miss Callie have an ulterior motive, or is this just a mission driven by delusions? He’s willing to do whatever he can to help fulfill Callie’s Christmas wish. He just never expected to be a vital part of it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a lovely story. Kelly was really nice. I enjoyed every second of the book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Egad! I just wrote the humblest, most remarkable and witty (wink) review ever for this charming little book -- and lost it into the annals of space and time forever it seems.
Woe am I. Woe are we. I'm now too sleepy to recall it, so you, alas, are left without it!
Please take my word that this is one of the best of the best as Christmas tales go, and very well worth snuggling up with, faithful pup by your side, feet warmed by the glowing embers of your wood fire - to chuckle and cheer, to fume and to wonder, to weep, to sigh, to laugh ... and (perhaps) cry!
Smile. I'm getting silly and am very tired, but warmly wish you all the best as you enjoy your task (to close the cover before midnight), and settle in for the perfect Christmas treat!
It really is a HEAP of fun! Enjoy, reader friends! (I actually listened to it, and the narration was cleverly and wonderfully well done!! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fun little Christmas story where love is found in an unexpected situation. Really sweet !

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was entertaining but did not capture my attention enough.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The author has a great way with her characters. They are real people trying to deal with their lives. When the three of them intersect it's nice to see what happens between them.
The reader is very good also and brings the book to life. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great heart felt message beautiful story and no profanity. The ending was sad and happy all at the same time
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this. The perfect read in December. I feel like the characters are family.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was a cheerful little tale. A bit Hallmark-movie-ish for me, but sweet. I loved the Callie character.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Short and sweet story. I enjoyed it as a quick read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Believable characters, great plot, kept my interest. I loved this story!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this heartwarming Christmas story. It is a departure from the author's usual murder mysteries but highly enjoyable quick read that just left me feeling uplifted. I think I have a new Christmas Novel I'll read again and maybe again.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5An interesting look at the "sandwich generation" with a bit of a twist. Sydney is in her first year at a law firm, a job that demands extraordinary hours, and she's also trying to take care of her grandmother (Miss Callie). The future of Sydney's job depends on her defense of the son of one of the firm's big clients. When she can't get out of court, she calls a cab to take her grandmother to a doctor's appointment. Finn is that cab driver (but he used to be a chef).Finn proves to have a very caring nature and goes above and beyond for several days. Miss Callie's overriding concerns seem to be having someone there for Sydney at Christmas and finding Sydney a Christmas present she will really like. So what is more important? Work or family? How do we choose when we're between a rock and a hard place? How do we respond when someone wants more than we feel we should have to give?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This will now be one of my favorite Christmas stories ever. Callie had me laughing and crying throughout. It was nice to see how Callie helped to get Finn and Sydney together once she met Finn. I did not want to put this book down until I was finished. I understand what it is like to learn that your family member doesn’t have long to live. You want to lash out like Callie does. This book really hits home. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I’ve read most, if not all of Terri Blackstock’s Christian fiction, but I’ve never read Terri Blackstock like this. Catching Christmas is short, sweet, seasonal, and just plain hilarious. I think I laughed out loud every other page, at least.Callie is an elderly wheel-chair- bound lady whom Finn, a down-on-his-luck cab driver, is called to drive to the dr. The story takes off from there and is so very captivating I almost finished it in one sitting.I loved reluctant but good-hearted Finn, inhibition-less Carrie and conflicted Sydney. What a feel-good Christmas book!Blackstock details a very merry return to faith, roots, and sensibility, with romance mixed in for good measure.Highly recommended for this season of joy.I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and CelebrateLit. I was not required to leave a review and all opinions are solely my own.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Though sad in part, this poignant Christmas tale will leave you with a warm holiday feeling. Miss Cassie is an elderly and extraordinary person. Lately, her health is failing as her body and mind are just wearing out. Her granddaughter Sydney has recently reconnected with her, and is trying her best to take care of her while launching her own career as a new lawyer. This is not working so well. Enter caring cab driver Finn Parish, who becomes Miss Cassie’s driver and lifeline to the world. Take these three characters, mix well, and wait for the reaction. Author Terri Blackstock has written a wonderful tale of love, devotion, caring, witness, and romance and centered it around Christmas. And while it is sad in a way, it is so much more uplifting and inspirational in others. Everyone should have a Miss Cassie in his or her life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed this fast read, and you can feel what Christmas is really about, what a great book the author has shared with us.There are some chuckles and tears here, and you feel compassion for all of those involved, and I felt like I was watching as I read! You will find yourself thinking of your own mother or grandmother, and putting a face to Miss Callie, and yes, you can actually see that all that happens here could be true.We really answer the question here of who is really family, and when you think about it the answers come, those who care and love you, and “the cab driver”.A don’t miss read that will keep your attention!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
