About this audiobook

Diane Mott Davidson’s New York Times bestselling novels are gourmet fare for mystery lovers. Recipes for such delicacies as 911 Chocolate Emergency Cookies and Damson-in-Distress Plum Tart make Sticks Scones especially delightful.

Catering Elizabethan fare to Aspen Meadow’s elite at an authentic castle brought from England is a dream come true for Goldy. But the day of the luncheon, Goldy is rudely awakened by a shotgun blast through her living room
window. As the day goes on, she finds a murder victim floating in a stream on castle property, watches someone close to her get shot, and begins to see the ghost that haunts the castle. Instead of a welcome opportunity, this job has
suddenly become a waking nightmare.

A good audiobook for commuting. I liked the castle location, and since I used to be a stamp collector, the stamps were an interesting addition to the story.

Davidson, DIane Mott, Sticks n Scones, caterer Goldy schultz, cop hubby, Hyde Castle n Hyde Chapel Anglophile lunch n fencing club dinner - many small points unbelievable- including the focus on recipes - her hubby is away to find an informant who turns up dead at _her_ location - she luckily finds ALL the clues - sheesh!

A culinary mystery. I couldn't put it down.

This story starts with a bang when someone shoots a hole in Goldie's house during the night. She is about to begin a big catering event when she has to leave home with her son and flee to the client's home. Problem is, she's not sure that is safe either.I really didn't care for this book. The events seemed incredibly far-fetched to me and the author couldn't make them believable. I have the same problem with Goldie that I have with Amelia Peabody, I can't believe in them, their reactions, actions, behavior or thoughts. It all seems choppy and sensational to me. So, you might like this book, but it doesn't appeal to me.
