This book did not propel me forwards as the other two books I listened to. I didn't find this a comedy as some described. I didn't like the arrogant main character Dig (not that I have to but even when he seemed to get it together he was boring, predictable). He was demanding, unsympathetic and had no idea about women. A challenging character to care about. Nadine was a blah personality that fixated on her love for Digby, on and on and on. Was a predictable storyline. While these are representative of real people, I didn't find enough interest in anyone except ex-girlfriend (cannot remember her name). Her needing privacy was somewhat interesting to find out what she was doing and why. Though this was a double-sided like/dislike as Digby was so rude he invaded her privacy to discover her reasons for being in London.

This was a great fun entertaining story, full on drama and a few laugh out loud moments too. I loved getting to know all of the characters, getting to follow them all in their individual lives from flashbacks to school days/being eighteen, to where they are now, in their 30’s. There was always lots going on.

I thought it was well written but then I expected that given that the author Lisa Jewell is such a talented author.

The character of Nadine did annoy me at times, like the time where she let Phil walk all over her, getting her to let him stay at her flat whilst she was away, his lies and excuses. I’d have seen right through his lies/excuses and chucked Phil out, I mean there’s no way I’d let a guy stay in my flat on his own whilst I was away, especially not when it’s a guy I’ve not been in touch with for god knows how many years. Nadine was just far to trusting in my opinion.

I enjoyed how all of Nadine, Digby and Delilah stories ended, just lovely.

The narrator Imogen Church is in fact one of my favourite narrators, it’s one of the reasons why I decided to listen to this on audiobook despite the fact that I had the paperback version on my bookshelf. Imogen always reads a story so well, doing slightly different voices for all of the characters. Just added to the overall enjoyment.

I literally had to stop. Can't stand listening to books about women who hate themselves and complain about other women. Felt "victimy". Sorry, because I usually love Lisa Jewel books

I loved it! That means a lot because I avoid romance novels like the plague. But Lisa Jewel makes it dark and twisty, with wonderful characters.

I stuck it out, but the characters were a bit annoying/boring and the story was LONG.
