About this audiobook
Some will rise, others will fall…
Blaze of Glory, Book 3
Jo Tanis is still recovering from her near-death experience in Las Vegas when she receives a mysterious postcard from Harris Limox, who claims to have a promising lead on the whereabouts of the Controller. Over her boyfriend/guardian Hunter’s objections, she sets off to a sleepy Oregon town to ferret out the truth.
The Controller is more than just a disgruntled super. He’s a rogue Guardian who was presumed dead and is now armed with a slew of high-tech hardware that not only makes him physically superior to the supers—and therefore almost impossible to destroy—he’s got the ability to detonate the implants in the back of all supers’ necks.
In Oregon, Jo meets a surviving Alpha super, Kit Masters, whose wild plan to capture the Controller could put an entire town of innocents at risk. But instead of successfully talking her former idol out of his disastrous bid to regain former glory, Jo finds herself betrayed and trapped in her worst nightmare.
Fight her former teammates, or die.
Editor's Note
Super Ending...
In Nantus’ third and final book in the “Blaze of Glory” series, our superheroine Jo has a lead on someone who has the ability to detonate all the surviving Supers. She has to find him before he takes out all of her friends (and her enemies). Jo is resourceful and smart, and it’s fun to spend time with her as she navigates a post-Super world.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's pretty obvious that I love this series, and have loved it from the start. I really enjoyed Jo's journey from second-string superheroine to leader of the Protectors. And I came to love Hunter so much as her hero in this book that I rather envy her. Hunter is an awesome example of how one does not need to be an alphole to be sexy. Jo wears the ass-kicking pants in this relationship, but that doesn't make him seem weak. I kinda wish more books had this relationship dynamic.
The books get darker as the series progresses, and there were a few moments in this one where I was "whoa, did that just happen?!" It seems like a logical progression though, because as the reader, and Jo, see more of the "behind the curtain" reality of the Agency it becomes clearer how broken and abusive the system was. And seriously, there was some ugly stuff going on. I was very happy to see what happened to the bad guy at the end, because he has it comin'.
Again, I love this series. It's got action, humor, romance--all the good stuff. Jo's tough but vulnerable, and it's interesting to watch the swing between her as the rolicking badass in battle and the anxious, mothering team leader. Her team is also fun, and they're each entertaining on their own.
(Yes, I did read an ARC of this book. I will also buy it in print and more than likely stalk the author at some point in the future to get my copies signed. Because I love this series.)1 person found this helpful
