About this audiobook

For Elizabeth Bennet, Charlotte is the friend who is—annoyingly—always right. Colonel Fitzwilliam is the mischievous brother she never had. And if their convictions that Mr. Darcy is in love with her are correct, he could be the lover she’s always wanted.

There’s only one problem—he tried to ruin her favorite sister’s life, and she made an absolute fool of herself in front of him.

Can lasting happiness come out of such a beginning? And can a man die from chasing a woman too quick to be caught? Darcy is about to find out.

A charming story, expertly narrated. I think Jane Austen would have approved.

One of the best P&P variations I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot of them. The plot diverts from the original in a realistic way- the huge misunderstand between Elizabeth and Darcy is averted when she learns the truth about Wickham from Col. Fitzwilliam. It has very little angst which makes it a fun read. The author has a good grasp on the characters, which I am picky about. The only mark against it (and what I’m about to say may actually make the book more appealing to some readers) is that all the kissing Darcy and Elizabeth do before they are even engaged is not true to the times they lived in. Darcy would have shown Elizabeth far more respect and I highly doubt she would have allowed such intimacies before she was even sure of how she felt about him. But really, it is a great book, the narrator is wonderful, and I will definitely read it again. Highly recommend.
