About this audiobook

Recently divorced Tina Durham is trying to be self-sufficient, but her personal-training career is floundering, her closest friends are swept up in new relationships, and her washing machine has just flooded her kitchen. It’s enough to make a girl cry.

Instead, she calls a plumbing service, and Joanne “Joe Mama” Delario comes to the rescue. Joe is sweet, funny, and good at fixing things. She also sees something special in Tina and invites her to try out for the roller derby team she coaches.

Derby offers Tina an outlet for her frustrations, a chance to excel, and the female friendships she’s never had before. And as Tina starts to thrive at derby, the tension between her and Joe cranks up. Despite their player/coach relationship, they give in to their mutual attraction. Sex in secret is hot, but Tina can’t help but want more.

With work still on the rocks and her relationship in the closet, Tina is forced to reevaluate her life. Can she be content with a secret lover? Or with being dependent on someone else again? It’s time for Tina to tackle her fears, both on and off the track.

Editor's Note

Lovely and joyful…

“Roller Girl” got a coveted starred review from Publishers Weekly, which is unusual for a romance novel about a relationship between two women, one of whom is transgender. Joe recruits Tina to join the roller derby team she founded. It’s in the rink that Tina, who’s recently divorced and finally living as the woman she was born to be, is able to work through some of her issues, though her growing feelings for Joe complicate things. “Roller Girl” is a lovely, sensitive, and joyful book.

I can’t even with this precious beautiful love story! Queer sapphic goodness, such hot narration and growth for the main character. Truly everything I needed! Read this!

    Loved this book!
They must have fixed the audio because it played perfectly!

I really enjoyed this story. However there were many many times that the narration repeated itself. I think it needed to be edited better. It was almost like the second to final draft was submitted. There was one time where I swear the narrator burped!

Great story. Bad recording. The audio wasn't edited and you can hear the narrator cough, repeat lines, and even swear when they make a mistake.

The story and narration are 5-star worthy. The characters were endearing and this was a great journey. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

The lack of editing is unfortunate and a detriment to this important story. It reflects poorly on the editor or whoever was tasked in its polishing.

I really loved the characters and the whole derby vibes but the insta-love trope is not really my thing.

The narrator is really great, but the editing is terrible. The same sentence are repeatedly several times, the phrases are not cut properly.

The story is great and narrator did good, except for the bad audio editing. If you can look past that you will fall in love with Tina ?

Cool story, but the editing is pretty bad.
Frequent repeated lines, throat clearing, a long burp and an F bomb.

Great story, but slightly frustrating narration. Occasional throat clearing, repeating of words or phrases, a burp, and a fuck - could have been edited better. But if you can ignore that, the story is definitely worth a listen!

OK story but the narration hasn't been edited. There was even a burp in chapter 7

This book was tedious reading and the narrator worse than awful. He kept repeating sentences and even belches loudly almost at the end of chapter 7. Gross and so unprofessional coupled with his too fast narration speed and toneless voice.

“Transwomen” are not women. This is a story about a straight couple. This is so misogynistic and insulting to actual lesbians ??
