About this audiobook
The first three books in Liliana Hart's New York Times bestselling Addison Holmes Series...
WHISKEY REBELLION
In Whiskey Bayou, Georgia, the humidity is thick, the gossip juicy, and family is everything. For Addison Holmes, she's just trying to get by, and teaching history to a bunch of hormonal teenagers isn't exactly lining her pockets.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Who would've guessed her principal would be in the audience of the strip club that hired her?
Addison is almost positive her life can't get any worse. Until she stumbles over her principal's dead body in the parking lot. There's no way Whiskey Bayou won't hear about that juicy tidbit, which means she's likely to be out of a job.
WHISKEY SOUR
Addison Holmes is at it again. When priceless Russian gems are stolen on their way to Savannah and the courier is murdered, all the clues lead back to an escort service that seems above reproach. But looks can be deceiving.
Throw in a sexy detective and a dangerous FBI agent, and Addison finds out very quickly that she's in way over her head. But nothing is going to stop her from getting her man.
WHISKEY FOR BREAKFAST
The Private Investigator's Handbook
Rule #1: Don't break the law
Rule #2: See Rule #1
...And then there's Addison Holmes, who makes up her handbook as she goes along.
Addison is licensed to carry and she means business. The only thing getting in her way is a sexy detective, a neighborhood watch from hell, a dead billionaire, a black market sperm bank, and a long lost heir.
Piece of cake...

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I am very, VERY disappointed. I LOVE Liliana Hart's JJ Graves Series, so I decided to listen to Addison Holmes. Unfortunately, I can't get past the narrator. And I have tried. Several times. That is how much I love the JJ Graves books. I have tried to listen to the Addison Holmes books 4-5 times. Every time, I make it a little further before I just can’t stand it anymore. I have listened to other narrators that I wasn’t initially fond of but then got used to after a few chapters, so, I decided I would not stop until I had listened to the first three books. I listened to all three, but I still just can’t get past the narrator enough to enjoy the story.
I feel bad writing negative reviews, because I know the authors and narrators are real people with real feelings and dreams. So, I really don’t mean the following in a cruel way.
The narrator is awful. She makes Addison sound like a pathetic, whiny, airheaded, bimbo. I can literally see the pout of her lips when Addison speaks. The narrator tries to change her voice for each character but isn't very successful. There is a man in book one who literally sounds mentally handicapped. During that scene, I actually felt like Addison was taking advantage of someone with diminished mental capacity and had to keep reminding myself that it was the narrator, not the character. Another issue is that the narrator sounds like a buxom black lady, but the descriptions of Addison don't match that image. I keep picturing Addison as Octavia Spencer (whom I love), but she is clearly written as a small white woman. I could probably get over that part, but the whiny bimbo sounds are just too much. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did. In book #2, one character is Frensh and the narrator’s version of a French Accent is atrocious.
Book #5 is available as an e-book and I had Siri listen to it. It was actually an improvement to listening to the narrator. Unfortunately, the other Addison Holmes books aren’t available on Scribd as e-books. Maybe I’ll check the library. I really want to read the entire series because Liliana Hart is a talented author and the series sounds good, but the narrator is the same for the entire series and I just can’t handle it. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The narrator is awful. Too bad. The series looks really good.
