What if you almost missed the love of your life?Nadia gets the 07.30 train every morning without fail. Well, except if she oversleeps or wakes up at her friend Emma’s after too much wine.
Daniel really does get the 07.30 train every morning, which is easy because he hasn’t been able to sleep properly since his Dad died.
One morning, Nadia’s eye catches sight of a post in the daily paper:
To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I’m the guy who’s always standing near the doors… Drink sometime?
So begins a not-quite-romance of near-misses, true love, and the power of the written word.
Includes a bonus Q&A between Laura Jane Williams and Carrie Hope Fletcher
A #1 ebook bestseller, this wonderful will-they-won’t-they romance is perfect

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The 3.7 rating on Goodreads [March 24, 2020] is definitely fair!
This book is funny, cute, filled with loveable characters and an amazing humour.
Definitely can recommend the audio book too! (Carrie Hope Fletcher narrates Nadia, and she has the voice of a Disney princess!!)
I have to agree with everyone else here, saying it dragged a bit and there was just one coincidence too much.
If anyone is looking for a book to read on vacation, or something light and easy, then this is it for you! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Do yourself a favor and read this amazing and sweet book!?❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Extremely entertaining. Listened to it in one day. Even carried my phone around with me. Made me cry and laugh in parts. I got so involved with the characters. Marvellous the way a female reads the chapters involving the ladies and a male reads those about the men in the story. Truly worth a listen.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Looooved this!
So fun and cute with great characters
Bravo! - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It’s a cute story, just seemed to lack something .........
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really wanted to like this book, unfortunately I did not. I liked the first part, but from there i felt it got kind of boring.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What an amazing book! The anticipation gets so frustrating but in a really cool fun way. I really enjoyed it? so relevant and modern I’d actually LOVE to see it as a movie one day ?
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was an enjoyable read. I feel it got better on the second part, when the pieces started to fall into place. The it became a delight! It has very healthy relationships, but sometimes it felt like it was preaching to us. It deals with grief in a very healthy way imo. I would recommend if you are looking for something sweet and quick and with positive relationships!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book, it's perfect to listen to on my way to work each morning as I too get the train into London Bridge each day. It's definitely well written and very well narrated. I've recommended this one to all of my friends. :-)
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I'm not normally one for reading the romance genre but I liked the first look of this. The author hooks you in imminently and I found I couldn't stop reading the first four chapters and when I did I was genuinely disappointed there were no more chapters to read in this first look. This seems to be one of those books with plenty 'aww' moments. I like the characters in this book too. Daniel, quite shy and they hard to capture the woman of his dreams...Nadia, who is wanting that true love connection but none of her previous relationships have worked out. I'm definitely going to have to buy this book as now that I've started this, it is a desperate need-to-know what happens between the romance- indulged Daniel and the crazy hair, always-in-a-rush Nadia.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5While overall sweetly intended, I can honestly say I enjoyed the start, felt my heart become fully involved at the stop, but the so called ride left something to be desired. The meet cute was adorable, as was the back and forth conversation playing out through Missed Connections posts, but the length of time it took for what would be to be, and the number of times in between that connections were missed drove me a bit batty. By book's end, I was ready for it to be over one way or another, though I do admit that ending hit my heart just right.
*copy received for review; opinions are my own - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/53.5 starsOur Stop has such a cute premise and will make a good holiday read for some I’m sure (just check out Goodreads there are 4 & 5 star reviews!), however for me it fell a little bit short. There is makings of a really great romcom here, but my main issue was the first half of the story which I felt was too slow and dragged on a bit that I found myself skipping a few sentences here and there. There is a fair deal of monologue which were quite long, repetitive and could’ve done with some editing without compromising the foundations of getting to know the characters or the issues being raised in this novel. This made it difficult to sustain interest in the beginning but that being said, I stayed along for this (at times frustrating!) ride and the second half was definitely more enjoyable. I was hooked in enough to want to know when and how Nadia and Daniel would finally get together - I just didn’t devour this romcom in the one sitting like I usually would!I enjoyed the alternating perspectives between Nadia and Daniel and both seemed likeable and relatable enough, particularly Daniel. There is a strong millennial vibe and it was an entertaining glimpse into the struggles of finding love in a modern setting. I appreciated the author’s attempts at raising awareness for several serious issues including mental health, emotional abuse, consent and relationships. While Our Stop didn’t tick all my boxes I found it to be overall a light and fun read and I'm sure there are plenty of romance and chick-lit readers out there who will enjoy this novel. Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins Australia for providing a copy for review.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Our Stop is a light hearted romantic comedy from UK columnist and Instagram influencer, Laura Jane Williams.“To the devastatingly cute blonde girl on the Northern line with the black designer handbag and coffee stains on her dress–you get on at Angel, on the 7.30, always at the end nearest the escalator, and always in a hurry. I’m the guy who’s standing near the doors of your carriage, hoping today’s a day you haven’t overslept. Drink some time?”Not quite sure how to introduce himself to the ‘devastatingly cute blonde girl’ who regularly shares his train carriage during his morning commute, Daniel Weissman opts to place a message in ‘Missed Connections’. Nadia Fielding is not entirely convinced the message is meant for her but she is willing to take a chance of finding true love, and replies. A flirtation ensues through the column, but when their first planned meeting goes awry it seems it will all come to nothing...unless fate steps in.Generally the tone of the Our Stop is a light and witty romance with a very millennial vibe, though Williams touches on some serious issues such as emotional abuse, consent, depression, and UK politics. The story unfolds from the alternating perspectives of Nadia and Daniel as their relationship is impeded by a series of missed opportunities. Nadia is likeable enough, a fairly typical heroine for the genre, except that her work has something to do with artificial intelligence, which does make a nice change from the usual professions (PR/PA) pursued by romcom heroines. Daniel is perhaps a little too perfect - embodying the ideal ‘millennial’ male, but appealing nonetheless, and I particularly liked the portrayal of his relationships with his friends, and parents. It’s not easy to develop romantic tension over the length of a book between two people who never meet, nor given the need for a string of contrived near-misses, to sustain interest in the potential of the relationship, but I thought Williams did so reasonably well. While I did feel it was all dragged out a bit too long overall, I wanted to see how Williams would finally bring Nadia and Daniel together, and I was satisfied when they finally got their happy ever after.Ultimately Our Stop was an okay read for me, not quite as engaging as I was hoping for, but not bad either.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh my heart, my heart. I'm not into soppy, fluffy love stories. When I read a romance I want it to have some oomph to it along with a love thread running through it that makes my heart sing. Our Stop is one of those kind of love stories. We meet Nadia and we meet Daniel. They, on the other hand, have a pretty tough time actually meeting each other. They are the very epitome of star-crossed lovers. This is the sort of story that warms the cockles of anyone with a romantic bone in their body. Daniel sees Nadia one day and it's a bit of an arrow through the heart moment. And then he sees her again and he wants to do something about it but it's not as though they met in a social situation and he can easily approach her. She gets on his tube train and everybody knows that nobody in London actually speaks to anyone on the tube. So he puts a message in the Missed Connections section of the paper and she sees it, they meet up and live happily ever after.Ah no, that doesn't happen! What follows is a lot of messages, some missed chances and some amazing coincidences. I won't tell you if they ever actually meet and get it together because that would be a spoiler, but let's just say I was incredibly pleased by the ending.I spent much of this novel in a delicious state of heightened anticipation. It's so well-written as to really keep up the tension of will they/won't they. It's pitch perfect on the part of Laura Jane Williams. I loved Nadia who is fun and a little scatty, but incredibly intelligent, working with artificial intelligence. But Daniel is the real star of this book for me. If a more perfect man exists then I shall be very surprised. He's sensitive, kind, clever, handsome and fills his trousers perfectly (apparently). What more could you ask for? There's also a lovely cast of supporting friends for each of them. Nadia has Emma and Gaby and Daniel has Romeo and, to some extent, his flatmate, Lorenzo, along with his gang from university. They all add something to the story of Nadia and Daniel and give them the chance to show why they are worthy of being the main characters in this gorgeous story.I loved the whole idea of the Missed Connections thing. I didn't even realise anything like that existed but what a perfect way to see if that spark could be turned into a fire or if it would fizzle out straightaway. At the end I was getting all fluttery, nervous and excited for Nadia and Daniel. I was totally invested in this thing between them working out. As she says to him: "It's quite the build up." The way it ended just melted my heart and I do believe a tear was shed. Our Stop is exactly my kind of love story. It's one which made me root for the characters and it was a total joy from beginning to end. Proper loved it!
