About this audiobook

When Mahony returns to Mulderrig, a speck of a place on Ireland's west coast, he brings only his handsome face, a photograph of his long-lost mother, and a determination to do battle with the village's lies. Mahony also somehow wakes the dead from their graves, with their foggy memories and hidden stories, floating greyly amongst the unseeing living. No one though - living or dead - will be able to guess what happened to the teenage mother who abandoned him as a baby.

Really well written. Funny. Gory. A bit confusing at times but think that's all part of the charm...

Brutal and beautiful, charming and perfectly flawed characters, excellent reading and gorgeous imagery. What else can one wish for?

This is one of the best books I have read this year! I loved it <3 Probably a lot in this adoration comes from the fact that for some years I lived in Ireland and this book brought me back to this green island, awesome trip! The dialogs and words typical for Irish, I was laughing outloud hearing them again.
There is a paranormal part - ghosts, there is a suspension and a murder, awesome sense of humor and wit, and all of it is set in awesome Ireland, in a village at "the end of the world". I will definetly check out more books of Jess Kidd.
5 stars and I recommend it to everyone!
