About this audiobook

Rather than accepting God’s invitation to enter intohis throne room, many Christians hesitate, uncertain and ashamed, just outsidethe door. There they stand alone, foolishly ignoring the glory Christ offers ashe beckons them to his table, to his house. They accept Jesus as their redeemerbut can’t seem to pass beyond the threshold of their faith, thereby missing outon the joy that awaits them in the presence of God.In Abide inChrist, Pastor Andrew Murray encourages listeners to live closer to God, incommunion and fellowship with him. These thirty-one heart-searching readingswill help listeners accept God’s invitation to come closer to him and live in hisblessings and glory.

Andrew Murray

ANDREW MURRAY (1828-1917) was a church leader, evangelist, and missionary statesman. As a young man, Murray wanted to be a minister, but it was a career choice rather than an act of faith. Not until he had finished his general studies and begun his theological training in the Netherlands, did he experience a conversion of heart. Sixty years of ministry in the Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa, more than 200 books and tracts on Christian spirituality and ministry, extensive social work, and the founding of educational institutions were some of the outward signs of the inward grace that Murray experienced by continually casting himself on Christ. A few of his books include The True Vine, Absolute Surrender, The School of Obedience, Waiting on God, and The Prayer Life.

Wow! This was absolutely amazing! Definitely encouraged me in so many ways, and I love Murray's writing style. It kept me engaged and interested at all times, and I liked the short sections that made for easy reading. This book is so deep, so the short sections were definitely necessary.

I would highly recommend this for any Christian wanting to grow closer to Christ!

Superb month of devotions (although I spent more than a month reading it). I went through a second time underlining, and a third summarizing it.In the Preface A.M. explains how during the life of Jesus on earth His word to his followers changed from 'follow me' to 'abide in me'. The later speaks of an intimacy of fellowship beyond trusting in His atonement and forgiveness. "Do not expectto abide in Him unless you give yourself time to grow into Jesus the vine ... Every workman claims his hour for food ... If we are to live through Jesus, we must feed on Him (John vi. 57)." Who would go on an infusion drip to have more time to devote themselves to their career? These devotions encourage Christians not to live possessing such a mindset with respect to Christ.
