A good modern fantasy book for beginning readers. The story is fictional: the flat Stanley is not possible in the real world. However, the plot is believable through the author's writing.Age: PrimaryMixed Media.Setting: In the school's Halloween Party

This book would be good for beginning readers. It had easy terms, but was not as dull as a lot of easy reads. Young children would really appreciate Stanley becoming a hero at the end. I would ask students to draw a poster for our own classroom poster contest like the one in this book. I would also have the students think of another way that Flat Stanley could be helpful.
