- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Not for toddlers! I dont recommend this book. It was kind of rude.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In this classic story, Elizabeth shares with us everything she loves about her super-sized beloved pet, and the illustrations will make us agree that Clifford is one-of-a-kind! Appropriate for the youngest readers.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This 1969 printing of Clifford has been in my family since I was two years old. Clifford is fugly cute in a lot of the pictures, but his mischievous spirit and Emily Elizabeth's love carries the day.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A great book for kids learning to read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Clifford is a classic! I remember loving this book as a kid, and wishing I had a dog just like Clifford, who gets into all sorts of mischief and is so big!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book! As a child I read this book and it was always so interesting to me of how big Clifford really was. It is a great book for children to imagine a dog that size and how life would be if a dog really was that size.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This Clifford book also sucks.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is all about expectations--Clifford does all the same things that a normal dog does, but on a different scale, with different consequences. The book lends itself well for introducing size vocabulary, different types of animals and for teaching children about looking after and caring for animals.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This fiction book is about a big, red dog that is owned b Emily Elizabeth. This book mainly describes what the dog, Clifford, does. But it also talks about the things tha him and Emily do together, like camping or not going to the zoo anymore. It is a great beginners story, because there are not hard words to read. It also tells us how she forgives Clifford for the mistakes that he makes, which is a good lesson to learn.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this easy fiction book because it is fun to read and teaches great life lessons in a cute and enjoyable way.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Clifford The Big Red Dog by Norman BridwellAudio version so I am not seeing the colorful pictures.Emily has a dog Clifford. He's big and red. Her friends have dogs also, they come in different sizes and colors. They have fun by playing games and the book tells you what games they do play.We also find out what bad habits he has also...and we learn of the day he was in the dog show.I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is the story about Elizabeth and her big red dog named Clifford. Clifford is a lot bigger then all of the other kids she knows dogs. Clifford is just like other dogs but is different in some ways. This book is one that I grew up on and one that I will read to my kids one day.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Ah, Clifford the Big Red Dog. This was one of the books that I read almost religiously during what was then called DEAR time. I would definitely include this book in my classroom because I think my students would enjoy it and therefore it could help lead them to a love of reading. If a book does that, it's done its job.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Bridwell's character Emily Elizabeth is telling a story about her big red dog, Clifford. She tells readers about some of the things that make Clifford similar to other dogs but so unique. For example, when they play camping she doesn't need a tent and when they play hide-and-seek, she can always find her dog. This book always makes little readers laugh and want to read more of the Clifford stories.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a book about a dog who was the runt of a litter, and a little girl named emily who picks this dog. Everybody says that he is not going to get very big but he actually does the opposite and grows to be the biggest dog ever. This is a good book to read to students to show them that even though they might be little now they will grow into a big strong teenager.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Clifford is big red dog. He is the biggest, reddest dog in his street. He likes to play with his owner, Emily Elizabeth. They are good friends!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was a cute book about an oversized, red dog! Emily Elizabeth is the owner and goes through the book having to do eveything in oversized proportions.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What I like: I have read this book to my boys so many time I have it memorized, and I'm still not tired of it - that must mean it is a good book. This is an introductory book to Emily Elizabeth and her big red dog Clifford. What I do not like: nothing - the book is great.Recommendation: Every public library should have at least one Clifford book. I would buy this book for my library (medium public library).
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is an example of modern fantasy because it is not realistic to have a dog that big in real life. The other things in the book that have to do with taking care of a pet are realistic, but they get blown out of proportion because Clifford is so big, such as his taking a bath in a large pool, having a dog house bigger than Emily Elizabeth's house, and playing fetch with a stick and bringing back a stick along with the police officer who is carrying his stick. Media: pen and ink. watercolor
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Frankly, I can take it or leave it. My nieces love Clifford, so I've added a star to my review and gone with the "take it" option. And if you or your kids like Clifford, you can rest assured that the entire series is inexpensive. The original book, at least, is simply written. That's something.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a book about Clifford- what he’s like, what his bad habits are, etc. Emily Elizabeth is glad that he’s her dog.
