Definitely a bibliotherapeutic book, but the theme is presented with so much humor, heart, and joy that the kiddos who need this (and those who we wouldn't think do, actually) will read it with delight. Everyone is 'smart' or 'talented' in their own way, and will find their own tribe, indeed. And yay for good teachers!

This is one of my favorite Food Group books! Smart Cookie is working on her confidence, and when she finds somethings she's good at, it broadens her mind to try other new things to see if she's good at them too. It shoes how trying new things can build confidence. It also illustrates that others are just like her, not everyone is good at everything. Great lessons for little ones like Dexter to learn while having fun!
