About this audiobook

Jacobia 'Jake' Tiptree is deep in her latest home improvement project when she notices the man repeatedly biking past her house. His face is unsettlingly familiar, but his chilling message seems inexplicable: Blood shows up again. Murder will out. Back in her days as a hotshot financial manager she did business with plenty of shady characters, but she's still baffled as to the identity of her nemesis - until she receives a photo of a murdered man. Now Jake knows what she's up against. But knowing her enemy is no guarantee that she can escape the grim payoff he has in store for her.

Sarah Graves

Sarah Graves lives with her husband in an 1823 Federal-style house in Eastport, Maine, where her mystery novels are set. When she is not scraping, painting, glazing, sanding, hammering, or otherwise repairing (or failing to repair!) the old house, she is working on her next cozy mystery.

This was another solid book in the series. The villain was creepy and evil. The storyline seemed a little more believable to me than some of the other books. There wasn't too much Ellie/Jake interaction in this story. It was mostly focused on Jake, and her inner thoughts. I think if you like the other books in this series, then you would like this one.

Definitely fun. Sooner or later Jake's unwholesome past was bound to catch up with her. At least one cinematic reference provides a suitable soundtrack. Taut and scary, even though we all know Jake will survive.

There was definitely a lot of suspense, but psychopaths are not my favorite type of characters - too creepy. Jake and her family continue to be appealing characters.

Another in the Jake Tiptree mystery series, and once again, Jake almost gets creamed. Taking place around the 4th of July, this installment features a person out of Jake's shady New York past. Unfortunately, he's really crazy, and he goes to Maine with the intention of killing Jake. It comes very, very close to happening, and the book is a nail-biter at the end. This is a quick, fun read for summer.
