FOOD TO FIGHT PAIN

BREAKFAST

TURMERIC KICK JUICE

Turmeric is a natural antiinflammatory spice, fighting those free radicals in your system. But be careful as it stains hands and clothing if not handled carefully. Turmeric, in combination with ginger and the antioxidants found in oranges, apples and black pepper, makes this a powerful anti-inflammatory drink.

SERVES 4-6

■ 20g-30g fresh turmeric■ 85g fresh ginger■ 6 large oranges, peeled■ 6 Gala apples■ ½ cucumber■ 20 frozen mango cubes■ ½ tsp ground black pepper■ Ice cubes, to serve

1Juice all the ingredients apart from the frozen mango and black pepper.

2Blend the juice with the frozen mango and black pepper.

3Serve the juice as it is, or with ice. It keeps in the fridge for three days but is best drunk fresh. Or you could freeze some in ice-cube trays.
