A low-carb feast
ASIAN CHICKEN WINGS
Chicken wings usually take up to almost an hour to cook in the oven. A handy tip is to simply blanch them beforehand, saving yourself loads of cooking time. This is the perfect snack for movie night with the family or watching rugby with friends.
SERVES 4 PREPARATION: 7 MIN COOKING: 28 MIN REST: 3 MIN
a generous pinch of salt
12 chicken wings
10cm fresh ginger
2 garlic cloves
1 red chilli
juice and zest of 1 lime
juice (about 80ml) and zest of 2 oranges
45ml (3T) soy sauce
15ml (1T) sesame oil
100g sesame seeds
Preheat the oven to 210°C.
1 Fill a large saucepan with hot water and put over high heat. Add the salt, cover and bring to the boil.
2 Add the chicken wings to the boiling water and cook, covered, for 5 minutes.
In the meantime, combine the rest of the ingredients – except the sesame seeds – in the bowl of a food processor and process until finely chopped. Pour into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer
