Cowgirl Kate and her horse Cocoa love getting up early and herding cattle on the range. They are the closest pals, even though they don't always see eye to eye. When its time to wrangle the cattle, Kate is ready to go with her sharp cowboy hat and tough rawhide gloves, but Cocoa needs a little more encouragement. After a quick drink and a few apples, the two are off to the range to get to work. With Cocoa's help, Kate climbs trees, tells stories, counts the cows and rides the range. And once their adventures get going, the two argue as only best buddies can do. Erica Silverman's Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa is a recipient of the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor and a treat for young listeners. Narrator Liz Morton perfectly captures the spirit of friendship and loyalty found in this delightful collection of stories. "This book is sure to be a favorite with girls and parents everywhere."-Children's Literature

Get ready, because Cowgirl Kate and her horse Cocoa are back for more adventures on the range. These two best friends love to spend time together-they just don't always see eye to eye. When Kate decides it's time for Cocoa to get new horseshoes, her favorite horse has other ideas. And Kate might have to get sneaky to convince Cocoa to get new footwear. Then while riding the range counting the cows, they notice a calf is missing. Perhaps he's playing hide and seek, which is just what Cocoa wants to do anyway! Kate also practices her roping skills-on Cocoa. Finally, the two even go swimming. But Kate isn't quite ready to make the giant leap into the farm's pond. This charming follow-up to the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa is a hit with kids, parents and critics. Partners offers children valuable lessons about friendship. "This is a pleasing choice as either a beginning reader or a picture book to read aloud."-Booklist
