Description

In this bonus episode, Alison Dickson and Jayson unraveled a dark saga of Patty Cannon, a mastermind behind what was called the reverse underground railroad. Patty and her gang, The Johnson Cannon Gang would capture free blacks and runaway slaves in the north and sell them to Southern Plantation owners who are desperate in the wake of them after imported slaves were banned in 1807. Patty and her gang focused on making mayhem and stole up to 10,000 individuals but Patty in her own right was a noted serial killer with some account stating that she had dozens of bodies of men, women and children of varying ages buried on her property. At the time of her 1829 arrest, Patty Cannon was someone who was just looking for financial profit or is the financial profit just cover for the serial killing that she wanted to do?This episode was originally aired on a YouYube live for Patreon subscribers of the Vintage Villains podcast and The Silver Linings Handbook Podcast.Check out Allison's podcast Vintage Villains and visit our website, follow along with us on Instagram, join our Silver Linings Fireside Chat Facebook group and join us on Patreon.
