Description
Hello listeners!
This week we have a conversation with Elsie Escobar.
Elsie Escobar is a ten year plus veteran in the industry and inductee into the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame. She knows the heart and soul of podcasters and podcasting beyond Apple Podcasts and public media. It is with this primary point of view of the average podcast listener (via thousands of hours of podcast listening) and independent podcast producer that Elsie brings a unique perspective to the podcasting industry.
Her passion within the industry is podcasting’s rapidly-changing environment, impact, access, community building, and advocacy.
Elsie welcomes the opportunity to elevate existing conversations around podcast consumption and initiate ways to reach new listeners above focusing on metrics, advertising and monetization into social change and using podcasting as a tool for personal growth and transformation.
Elsie has a mentorship group The E-League and it went live for the Spring session this April 2017.
Elsie’s biggest focus is on "podcasting advocacy" meaning bringing awareness about podcasting and podcasters to those that don't know about it, or that don't know "all the things."
We talked about all the things from living in El Salvador to studying theatre and how Elsie got into podcasting back in 2006.
