Description

In tonight's Tehilim shiur (4/8/20 at YBT), after a brief recap of our method of learning Tehilim (since there were several new people in the shiur), we began working on the final perek of Hallel, and oh what a difficult perek it is! The unity is difficult to discern, and is made even more difficult by how we tend to divide it up when we recite it as part of Hallel, on account of the changing melodies, the doubled pesukim, the call and response, and the visual layout in the sidurim. We then tried to find the pivot point which proved to be a challenge, but we think we found it (or should I say: "them") and we managed to come up with a general approach to the main idea. Next time we'll go through the individual pesukim with the Radak in hopes of clarifying our understanding of the main idea, and after that we'll focus on how to translate these ideas into practicality. If you're interested in our shiurim on all the other parts of Hallel, here are the links:Tehilim 113 Part 1Tehilim 113 Part 2Tehilim 114 Part 1Tehilim 114 Part 2Tehilim 115Tehilim 116 Part 1Tehilim 116 Part 2Tehilim 117----------מקורות:תהלים קיח עם פירוש הרד"ק והספורנו----------If you missed the crash-course on "How to Learn Tehilim," here are links to the YouTube video, the podcast episode, and the written version. Here's another article I wrote entitled How TO and How NOT to Apply Tehilim to Your Life.Lastly, here's an article I wrote entitled How to Say Tehilim for the Sick Without Violating Halacha.----------If you have questions, comments, or feedback, I would love to hear from you!
