However, her course, "Slaying Negotiation with a Narcissist," gained immense popularity, leading her to become known for her work in dealing with narcissistic personalities. Rebecca highlights key characteristics of narcissists in negotiations: they enjoy making things difficult for others, constantly change their demands, and seek control to feed their ego and maintain their image.When dealing with a narcissist, Rebecca recommends following the SLAY method:1. **Set Clear Goals:** Determine what you want to achieve in the negotiation.2. **Leverage:** Identify what is important to the narcissist and threaten their supply that matters more than your request.3. **Anticipate Their Moves:** Predict their behavior and stay prepared.4. **Yield the Right of Way:** Allow them to believe they came up with the solution.Rebecca explains that when you lack leverage, you must create it. Narcissists often have something they fear being exposed to, as they tend to lie and act impulsively.Narcissists lack empathy and display extreme arrogance. Their confidence is a facade, concealing deep shame and feelings of worthlessness. Rebecca believes narcissism stems from nurture, not nature, often originating from childhood trauma.Ryan and Rebecca also discuss the opposite of narcissism, exploring how a sense of true value and trust in God can empower individuals to overcome the fear of others' opinions.Rebecca's work extends to providing legal assistance to those who cannot afford legal fees.
