Beth became interested in the topic of negotiation after noticing patterns in relationships and communication among the women she worked with in classes, workshops, and coaching sessions. She found that many women were holding themselves back from being effective negotiators and wanted to understand why. After researching existing literature on gender and negotiations, Beth realized that the information was contradictory and not helpful in practical terms. To bridge this gap, she conducted hundreds of interviews with women, categorizing them based on their career stage and profession.
