Description

Learned Helplessness and Learned Optimism comes from the work of psychologist Martin Seligman.  Learned Helplessness is a serious condition that can occur from trauma, abuse, or just the stresses of life.  But there is a way through, and that is Learned Optimism.  Even though trauma, anxiety, and the painful mental and bodily effects of learned helplessness seem so deeply ingrained in our nervous system, there are actually beliefs around learned helplessness that keep the trauma in place.  In this episode, I cover those beliefs and how to change them and reclaim your life.  Clint Sabom is Creative Director of Contemplative Light. He lived in Budapest, Hungary in 2003 as a Gilman Scholar. He speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2007, he lived for six months in a silent monastery. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Religious Studies and one in Spanish literature. He has traveled extensively through Europe and South America. He has spoken and/or performed at Amnesty International, Health Conferences, High Schools, and art galleries across the US. He has studied and done in his own work in Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Shamanism, NLP, and hypnosis.  The Sanity Sessions is an ongoing podcast on mental health and psychology.  It features both interviews with mental health professionals and lessons from Clint.   Clint offers a class on Overcoming Learned Helplessness that is a 6 week class to employ research-proven methods that have helped thousands.  https://contemplativelight.teachable.com/p/overcoming-learned-helplessness/

This podcast deals with the practices and teachings of 20th Century mystic, Franz Bardon. Earlier episodes on psychology serve as a valuable resource, as I continually hear from students of Franz Bardon with mental health hangups of some variety. I encourage the listener to peruse through and learn from these earlier episodes. I am an Executive Spiritual Coach for students and practitioners of Bardon. I have achieved all abilities in Initiation Into Hermetics except for levitation. I am also Creative Director of Contemplative Light. My YouTube page ishttps://www.youtube.com/@TheGraveyardCowboy. Thanks for listening, and many blessings to all of you!
