Yates is an internationally recognized speaker and expert in the field of diabetes and heart disease, and a published author. She graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR in 1994. She is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.
