Description

We are so fortunate that we have Hashem to help us every moment of the day, 24 hours a day. When we need help and all of a sudden something opens up and we receive that help, that is called siyata d’Shamaya – Heavenly help. We are helped with little things and we are helped with big things. It is incumbent upon us to recognize when we do receive siyata d’Shamaya and thank Hashem for it. A woman who teaches in a school related that recently one morning after sending her children off to school, she started feeling very sick. She tried her best not to think about it so she wouldn’t have to miss school. Although she would have preferred to just go back to sleep and try to recuperate, at that point, she didn’t really have much of a choice. A few minutes later the phone rang. It was a friend of hers whom she hadn’t spoken to in a while. This friend happened to have already substituted for her on several occasions. The first question she asked her friend after saying hello was, is she able to substitute that day. The woman answered by saying, “Gladly, I have to be in the school anyway today for a meeting, so it works out perfectly. Just leave a message for the principal that I am coming in and send the material that you want me to teach.” She hung up the phone, so thankful to Hashem for sending her that substitute teacher right when she needed it. She then called a co-teacher to ask if she could possibly pass by her house and pick up the material to bring to school for the substitute. The co-teacher said, at that moment she was passing her home and she stopped the car and came to the door to get the material. That is siyata d’Shamaya , with everything working out so perfectly for this woman to be able to get the rest she needed that day. Rabbi Sneur Guetta from Israel told that this past Chanukah he was scheduled to take one of the tests from the Rabbanut on his learning. He had learned dozens of simanim in Shulchan Aruch over the previous two years and everyone in his kollel was preparing hard for the test. They were given two months to review the material. The problem was that Rabbi Guetta became such a popular speaker he was traveling every single night to a different location to give chizuk to people and help them become more religious. It was going to be impossible for him to properly review and pass that test. And to postpone the test wouldn’t really change anything because his schedule wasn’t changing either. He asked his rabbi what to do. His rabbi said to him, since he was doing the work of Hashem and going to different communities to help bring people closer to Hashem, Hashem would give him extra siyata d’Shamaya and he would pass the test. So he reviewed as much as he could. He chose only a select number of simanim to review with the time that he had and asked someone else from the kollel who knew them very well to help him. When the day of the test came, he was in awe when he saw that the majority of the questions came from the select simanim that he happened to choose to review and, indeed, he did pass the test. That is amazing siyata d’Shamaya . Another man said he went to a class in Israel before Pesach about how to do the mitzvah of eating the matzot the most beautiful way. The rabbi taught them about every possible stringency in baking the matzot and the man was very inspired. The following day, he set out to try to find matzot that conformed to all those stringencies, but he was unsuccessful. He tried for four days, but that type of matzah didn’t seem to exist. He wanted so badly to do the mitzvah the way he learned about it, but it didn’t seem like it was going to happen. Then, two days before Pesach, the rabbi who gave the class called him and said he himself made matzot and had some extra and asked him if he wanted. The man couldn’t believe it. There were over one hundred people in the class with him that day and, out of all the people in the class, the rabbi specifically chose him to call and offer the matzot. H
