That study showed how diet drinks especially caused a change to the microbiome. This new study is showing how artificial sweeteners affect the chemical messengers in the brain. The chemistry of your brain is being altered to increase your hunger. If people are making the switch to “diet” to lose weight, it’ll actually make things worse. Water is essential to our brains, and that’s why it’s so important to increase our intake!
