Description
The grind of the NFL season is catching up to the Cincinnati Bengals' injury report.
Aside from several season-ending injuries to Drew Sample and Chidobe Awuzie, and D.J. Reader and Ja'Marr Chase missing time in the middle of the year, the Bengals have mostly stayed healthy through the first 14 weeks of the season.
As the Bengals head to Tampa Bay this weekend to face Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, though, that's changing. Edge rushers Trey Hendrickson (wrist) and Joseph Ossai (shoulder) could miss this week's game after sustaining their respective injuries against the Browns last weekend.
Wide receivers Tee Higgins (hamstring) and Tyler Boyd (finger) also saw limited action because of their own injuries as well. That's further compounded by the fact that Hayden Hurst (calf) missed Sunday's game and could even miss more time moving forward.
The silver lining for the Bengals is they have Sam Hubbard and D.J. Reader up front for added support. Trenton Taylor and Trenton Irwin stepped up when needed on Sunday as well. How well can the Bengals hold up without their top stars though?
The Strictly Stripes crew kicks off the new week explaining how significant those injuries are and what those timetables look like. They also set the stage for what Cincinnati should anticipate down south this weekend.
This podcast features Mohammad Ahmad, Andrew Gillis and Michael Niziolek.
