Description

In business, you really do just have to keep thinking bigger…
Thinking big and taking action in your business is the theme of this episode with my incredible guest Michelle Akhidenor, Founder of branded podcast agency The Peers Project, Australia’s only BIPOC, female-led podcast agency (and 2021 Australian Podcast Awards Finalists), who create podcasts imbedded in cultural conversations for visionary brands like Indeed, Shopify, Modibodi, Estia Health and Alibaba.
We chat about normalizing the stop, start, try a new thing, and another new thing journey that is figuring out your business - it doesn’t happen to everyone in business, but it happens to a lot of us.
The need to up the ante for yourself - to take an action so that you can’t back away from what it is you really want, out of fear – seriously why is fear of success almost scarier than failure?!
And learning to put yourself out there so much, that you eventually lose the shame - SO important to just throw things out there and learn from the experience, to just keep going.

This weekly podcast explores what it’s like to be starting your career over, with the people who’ve done it. In conversation, we tackle the messy middle of changing your life - how it feels to drop the identity of whatever came before and step into a brand new you – with, or without a plan.  Your host is Kim Kerton (hi!) the creator behind the handmade ceramics and plant-based recipes of Good Side of the Bed, a writer, marketer, yoga teacher, sea-changer, rev-head and pug mum. Before all that, Kim spent over a decade in the commercial media business. She decided to walk away, got unemployed and afraid, and here we are. This podcast is for the brave people who want to start over but are feeling the fear - maybe putting off starting because the end isn’t clear - and for those who find themselves right in the middle of the whirlwind. Whether by choice or by push, starting over is scary, Unemployed & Afraid is your tribe on the pathway through change.
