Description

Listener, this episode I’ll be sharing a little more about where I’m at with my own story of starting over, and my very lovely Mum is back to interview me.
So, my guest is me, your host of this podcast, Kim Kerton. I also create ceramic homewares in an imperfectly perfect, hand-made, natural vibe, I create and share plant-based recipes, I’m a content marketer, a brand strategist, a writer who desperately wants to write more, and an endlessly curious human who just wants to do a million things – right now I’m balancing my side-hustles with a full-time hustle and just doing what I can to make it all work to keep moving towards my goals and supporting you with yours.
In this episode, I’ll give you an update on what’s happened since I launched this pod in 2021, some of the messiness I’ve experienced along the way and what I think (I hope) might be next on this journey. We’ll talk about the scariness of stating something like this, the awkward moments that pop up, the challenges of balancing multiple creative outlets, and the need to feel supported financially.

This weekly podcast explores what it’s like to be starting your career over, with the people who’ve done it. In conversation, we tackle the messy middle of changing your life - how it feels to drop the identity of whatever came before and step into a brand new you – with, or without a plan.  Your host is Kim Kerton (hi!) the creator behind the handmade ceramics and plant-based recipes of Good Side of the Bed, a writer, marketer, yoga teacher, sea-changer, rev-head and pug mum. Before all that, Kim spent over a decade in the commercial media business. She decided to walk away, got unemployed and afraid, and here we are. This podcast is for the brave people who want to start over but are feeling the fear - maybe putting off starting because the end isn’t clear - and for those who find themselves right in the middle of the whirlwind. Whether by choice or by push, starting over is scary, Unemployed & Afraid is your tribe on the pathway through change.
