Description

My guest today is Amie McNee, AKA Inspired to Write, and she has unknowingly played a huge part in giving me the courage to step into my creativity – let me tell you if you need a little boost to keep going, she’s your gal.
Amie is an author, podcaster, book doula, creative coach and all-round inspiring human, dedicated to supporting creative, artistic souls to step into their magic and create what they want in the world (and yes, if you’re thinking it, business is in fact art).
In this chat we cover re-writing the stories we tell ourselves that hold us back, rising up from rejection, and creating a path when there isn’t anybody to follow.
Her commitment to the self-work required on the journey is endlessly inspiring, and I hope that if you’ve been feeling a little muddled or challenged lately, this chat will give you what you need to just keep going and keep trying in whatever you’re creating.
Swear warning – we get sweary – so perhaps not one for the school pick-up, but you do you.

This weekly podcast explores what it’s like to be starting your career over, with the people who’ve done it. In conversation, we tackle the messy middle of changing your life - how it feels to drop the identity of whatever came before and step into a brand new you – with, or without a plan.  Your host is Kim Kerton (hi!) the creator behind the handmade ceramics and plant-based recipes of Good Side of the Bed, a writer, marketer, yoga teacher, sea-changer, rev-head and pug mum. Before all that, Kim spent over a decade in the commercial media business. She decided to walk away, got unemployed and afraid, and here we are. This podcast is for the brave people who want to start over but are feeling the fear - maybe putting off starting because the end isn’t clear - and for those who find themselves right in the middle of the whirlwind. Whether by choice or by push, starting over is scary, Unemployed & Afraid is your tribe on the pathway through change.
