How often have you told your kids
"you are so difficult!" "You are so mean!" and "You are a bad girl!"
that gets internalized to "I am difficult, mean and a bad girl..."
How about what you say to your spouse... what "you are" statements do you use?
"You are so selfish!" "You are clueless, you have no idea what this is like!" and "you are uninvolved!"
that gets internalized to "I am selfish, clueless and uninvolved." ouch.
You do this all the time with "I have a difficult baby..." all the way to "My MIL is inconsiderate!" Calling people things that we don't want them to be... not awesome for YOU or them. So, let's fix this mistake!
This podcast episode spills all the golden goodness about building "you are" statements that help to build up the people around you... instead of them internalizing negative statements made about them.
