Resources Mentioned:
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): Check with HR at your job to see if they offer an EAP. Some companies offer up a certain amount of sessions for free. Additionally, EAP can assist with the process of finding a therapist.
Insurance: Check with your insurance provider! You can also filter on  Psychologytoday.com to see what therapist takes your specific insurance. Check with the therapist and your insurance company to see if they're approved, if there is a limit in sessions, etc. If you desire to see a therapist through insurance but there is a limit in sessions, ask the therapist if they accept cash/sliding scale fees (most do) upon insurance not covering your sessions anymore.
Therapyforblackgirls.com: Dr. Joy has created a directory of African American female therapists. You can search for one in your area. Awesome resource!
Openpathcollective.org: A website that houses therapists all over the country. These therapist offer sliding scale fee for $30-$50 a session. Excellent resource. There is a $50 to join once you've found your therapist but that is a one time fee.
Psychologytoday.com: This is the website that houses most, if not all, therapists. I recommend anyone you find on the previous resources to look up their information on this website, read their profile, and find their direct number to set up an appointment. When searching, play around with the website to search for therapist specialities and what is the best fit for you.
