Description

TRIGGER WARNING // This episode deals with issues around grief, terminal illness and loss. If this brings up any issues for you we have included some helpful links in the show notes.APOLOGIES.We have been on a two-week hiatus as I (Steph) recently lost my father, Ronnie to a very long battle with Dementia and Parkinson's. He fought until the very end and I know he would have wanted me to stop wallowing in my misery and get back into life. He always said a problem shared is a problem halved and we hope that we can share some insights on grief and loss with those who may also be struggling. Don't worry - there are also a few laughs in there. This episode is dedicated to Ronnie, the man, the myth, the legend - "I have no doubt you’re sending it to hell and back up there and the boys won’t know what hit them when you arrive. Thank you for always making me laugh, for your beautiful soul and your generous spirit. We’ve lost one of the greats and I’d do anything to stare into those big blue eyes one more time. You were the life of the party and you never took anything too seriously. I loved that in your final years I could make you hysterically laugh just by saying “bing bong” - and that you told me I was beautiful even on the days I felt broken. Thank you for fighting the good fight - always with a cheeky smile on your face. You’re the kindest man I know and you’ve always protected our family. I’m so glad you can finally join your best friend Kevin and all your German shepherds, they’ve been waiting a while for you. Don’t get up too much mischief okay - God’s let you in despite your sins so take it easy on the big man! 10-4 good squire, I’ll carry you in my heart wherever I go."KOLIDE ADVICE:GIVE BACK:Donate to a Parkinsons' Charity in honour of Ronnie AllenREAD:Dermot Crowley - Smart Work - How to Boost Your Productivity in Three Easy Steps DRINK:Five by Flynn Water BottleUSE:The Amalfi Vibrator paired with Malfi GinFor all our local advice and recommendations check out @kolideinsta and our website kolide.com.au and to keep up to date with our work, you can find us @theardentco. If you like what you hear, we’d LOVE for you to subscribe, rate and review. For those struggling with grief, please contact the Grief Line on 1300 845 745 Hosted on Acast.
