Description

Instead of releasing a new episode, we’re dedicating this week to revisiting AMB episodes that are essential listening, especially right now. Each of these episodes centres the voice of a Black creator, or traveler, or activist.

The travel community and industry is overwhelmingly white. It’s about time we talk about this, so we are chatting with black travel consultant, Martinique Lewis.

Her work strives to change the existing narratives of travel by advocating for travelers that represent different demographics across multiple platforms. What is the Black Travel Movement? How important is representation in travel media? We break it down.

Guest: Martinique Lewis, Black Travel Consultant and Digital Disrupter at https://www.martysandiego.com/

"With factors like the Black travel movement and millennial travelers driving the industry it can only change for the better! Although numbers don't lie, travel brands and tourism boards still haven't caught the wave of diversity and it's immensely frustrating! Tired of not seeing ourselves reflected when we look at ads and promotions knowing our travel dollars matter makes us take action and affect change!"
