Description
The way that we travel and experience the world is in part shaped by our identities. Our experiences can be impacted by our ethnic, racial, gender, and sexual identities. And today, we’re learning what it’s like to travel as a LGBTQ+ couple.
Traveling as a queer couple can bring up a lot of questions, like:
Is the queer community safe where we want to travel?
Should we hold hands?
What countries are "gay-friendly" and which are just giving lip service?
In this episode, we discuss LGBTQ+ travel from the perspective of Alex and Chris - aka Burrito and Tortilla. We discuss safety concerns, misgendering, advocating for yourself, understanding your privilege as a queer traveler, and what resources are available to the traveling LGBTQ+ community!
P.S, We're looking for more info on what you like and dislike about the podcast, and how you found us! If you have one minute today, please fill out this quick question survey for us!
