Description

TRIGGER WARNING ON ALL EPISODES
For years I struggled with the idea that I was not "enough" as a woman just because I had no desire to become the "ideal woman" that was represented in my churches growing up. I had been taught that women should have a natural desire to have children, cook, clean, and become traditional home makers.
I felt that being born with a desire to have a career and not a family was the ultimate curse since I was born as a female.
In this episode we discuss how many of the myths we were taught as children play a part of our lives now, and how we can set ourselves free from any negative pressures we've put on ourselves.

ALL PODCASTS WILL HAVE A TRIGGER WARNING! Hi, my name is Isami. I'm a former "missionary" kid who found God after leaving a religious cult. Growing up I was taught a "woman's place" in the kingdom of God was in the kitchen or as a doormat. After leaving the environment I was raised in, I learned that God had bigger plans for me. I've found healing through, therapy, relationships, and sharing my story of survival. I'm here to cook with the chaos and serve sandwich of religious trauma, mental health struggles, loaded with trigger warnings, straight from my anti misogynist kitchen. Enjoy!
