We all agree that disappointments are part of life, so they are a part of your artistic career too. Disappointments will happen, that’s part of the journey and there is so much to learn from them. This week on Thriving Women Artists, Ping, Sarah and Dorien will be discussing tips on how you can not let disappointment get the better of you and how you can turn everything into a learning moment.

Disappointment can feel like a very personal thing. You should be aware that we often have high expectations and sometimes we need to separate our work from ourselves. It shouldn't be personal, maybe that project wasn’t right for you, not that you’re a bad artist. 
You have to manage your expectations and be realistic. If you only put in a little bit of time then you can’t expect a huge outcome. If you really want something then you need to put in the time and do your best.

Ping used the disappointment of getting the feedback from a client that her flower art didn’t sell well in the winter time. She decided to adjust and created a different theme that was actually better for her and her client. 
Don’t be afraid of disappointment, if you’re too afraid to make the first step, then you’ll always be stuck where you are. Even if the step isn’t what you had hoped for, at least you have taken it.
