Description

After our little foray into the world of the six-string in Chapter 10, we are firmly back on plan this week as we delve further into the making of the Ice Cream Genius album.
Ant wanted to talk about the evolution of the musical ideas on the album, and how the creative process may have differed from that with my regular band. So I have tried to recollect to the best of my ability, including tipping a nod to those that contributed to the sound of the record.
The Diary section takes us to Italy, a great place to spend time, but heaven forbid you actually want to try and work there as a (professional) musician... 2 trucks, 2 tour-buses and a kettle lead...

Lead singer of Marillion, father, hippy, punk, soul singer, progressive rockstar (wtf!), defender of the faith, voice of reason in a world gone crazy... ...and now podcaster. Join me as I talk about my life and what is rambling around in my head. Along the way I will focus on some of the stories that have shaped my career and my life, as well as reading from my diaries and offering my take on the wider world. Stay safe, h P.S I began this journey just as CoVid-19 took hold and changed our lives, possibly forever, so it seems apt to reference that in the naming of the podcast.
