Mario is passionate about his ideas and is determined to advocate for the greater good of his constituents.
Prior to his tenure as Senator, Mario was the leader of Plumbers Local Union No. 200 for more than 39 years. To ensure that all have a better quality of life, he has dedicated himself to helping local organizations and has served as a board member on the St. Catherine’s Hospital Health and Wellness Advisory Board, the Suffolk County Water Authority, Community Association of Greater St. James, and the Smithtown Advisory Board for new construction projects. He is an advocate for improving the environment, infrastructure, affordability, diversity, support of small businesses, and recovery from the pandemic. His successes include helping to secure millions in state funding for sewers in the Smithtown, Kings Park, and St. James business districts, which will help protect the environment and enhance the economy.
