Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine has plenty of environmental concerns including the town's lack of sewers and its closing landfill. As Brookhaven Town Supervisor, Ed Romaine is a champion of environmental and quality of life issues in Brookhaven Town. Since taking office in 2012, Romaine has spearheaded many measures to preserve local land and waters. In this podcast, Paul K. Boyce, PE, PG, sits down with Supervisor Romaine and Charlie Bartha, PE, Sr. Vice President at PWGC to discuss one of his most important accomplishments of saving the 10 miles of Carmans River through legislation he introduced during his first year as supervisor. They will also cover other exciting environmental initiatives that including climate smart street ends, sewers and sewage treatment plants, innovative/alternative septic systems, preserving Forge River and Lower Yaphank Lake and the other environmental issues that arise when with the landfill closing.
