Description

Episode 23: Drone Aerial Imagery And The Environment With the increase of drone technology, the way aerial imagery captures environmental inspections has changed significantly. Paul K. Boyce, PE, PG, President/CEO, and his PWGC colleagues; Usman Chaudhry, Senior Hydrogeologist and Pete Hayes, Senior GIS Analyst discuss the process of certifications through the FAA that Commercial drone pilots must undergo and the importance of safety. There are many factors to consider when flying a drone including drone flight plans, height restrictions, types of aerial vehicles, environmental elements, proper safety precautions, sensor interferences, battery power, etc. When used properly, drones can be powerful for both internal and external usage. Drones can even be used to inspect inside pipes!
