Description
Athlon Sports has released their annual preseason All Conference teams. Miami has 12 players make the 4 All ACC teams, highlighted by OT Zion Nelson and punter Lou Hedley. RB Jaylan Knighton, TE Will Mallory, OL DJ Scaife, CB Tyrique Stevenson and kicker Andres Borregales made the second team. The 3rd team features WR Key'Shawn Smith and DT Leonard Taylor. QB Tyler Van Dyke, DT Jared Harrison-Hunte and safety James Williams snuck in to the 4th team.
Host Alex Donno takes a look at the quarterback landscape and makes the case for why the publication didn't necessarily get it wrong when they ranked all 3 of Sam Hartman (WF), Devin Leary (NCST) and Brennan Armstrong (UVA) ahead of TVD. He examines the merits and numbers of all four, but expects Van Dyke to ascend above most, if not all of them, by the end of the season.
Donno takes a deep dive on a dozen recruiting prospects who have either visited the University of Miami this past weekend or named the Miami Hurricanes as finalists for their upcoming verbal commitment. It's a big list, a star-studded list, and we hope Miami can land a handful of these players to stack their deck for a college football playoff run in the near future. We recap the recent visits of edge rusher Ta'Mere Robinson, OT Olaus Alinen, and safety Jayden Bonsu.
